About CME | Environmental Testing Equipment Manufacturer Since 1981
From laboratory equipment to Industry 4.0-enabled environmental test chambers, CME has spent over four decades engineering reliable testing systems for aerospace, automotive, electronics, defence, renewable energy and research organisations worldwide.
Engineering Environmental Testing Since 1981
CM Envirosystems is an Indian engineering company specialising in environmental simulation and reliability testing systems. Since our journey began in 1981, we have evolved from manufacturing laboratory equipment into one of India’s leading developers of customised environmental test chambers, battery testing systems, solar PV qualification chambers and intelligent Industry 4.0-enabled testing solutions.
Our Journey
Built on Engineering. Driven by Innovation.
Our story began in 1981 as CM Equipment & Instruments, manufacturing laboratory ovens, incubators and tray dryers for scientific and industrial applications.
As testing requirements became increasingly sophisticated, we invested heavily in refrigeration engineering, environmental simulation and control technologies. By the late 1990s, our focus had shifted towards advanced environmental test chambers capable of reproducing real-world climatic conditions with exceptional accuracy.
This transformation led to the creation of CM Envirosystems, reflecting our singular focus on designing world-class environmental testing equipment.
Today, CME serves customers across automotive, aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, defence, research laboratories and manufacturing industries with customised testing solutions engineered for long-term reliability.

Global Vision
While proudly engineered and manufactured in India, CME’s ambition extends beyond domestic markets.
We continue investing in engineering, automation, sustainability and global partnerships to deliver environmental testing solutions that meet international performance, reliability and compliance standards.
Innovation at CME is grounded in deep engineering capability and structured research.
Rather than incremental product changes, CME invests in fundamental R&D to advance thermal performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and digital intelligence across environmental test systems.
CME operates a dedicated R&D facility separate from routine production activities.
This space is designed for experimentation, prototyping, validation testing, and long-term research programs, allowing engineers to explore new concepts without operational constraints.
CME’s R&D function is led by a PhD-qualified specialist in refrigeration and thermal systems.
This leadership ensures that innovation is driven by first-principles understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and system behavior, not trial-and-error engineering.
Innovation AT The Core
CME is not a traditional environmental test chamber manufacturer. We are a technology-powered engineering company that designs and delivers intelligent, connected, and data-driven environmental testing systems.
Our focus is not just on creating test equipment, but on enabling better decisions, faster development cycles, and higher reliability for the world’s most demanding industries.
Built on Decades of Engineering Expertise
With over three decades of experience in environmental simulation, CME has evolved alongside the industries we serve.
What began as precision engineering has transformed into a digital-first organization, where hardware, software, data, and manufacturing operate as one integrated system.
What We Do
CME designs and delivers advanced environmental testing platforms that simulate real-world conditions with precision, repeatability, and intelligence.
Our systems are deployed across EV and battery testing, aerospace and defense, electronics and semiconductors, solar and renewable energy, and advanced industrial applications.
CME operates a distributed leadership model with empowered domain owners and centralized strategy, enabling fast decisions, accountability, and scalable execution.
CME Does Not Operate As A Top-Down, Approval-Driven Organization
CME does not operate as a top-down, approval-driven organization. Instead, leadership at CME is built on distributed ownership, clear decision rights, and centralized strategic direction.
This model reflects the philosophy of Chairman Dr. Jacob Crasta, who believes that strong institutions are built by empowering capable leaders, not by concentrating control.
Clear Decision Ownership Across All Organisational Functions
Each core function at CME is led by a domain expert with full ownership of decisions and outcomes.
Sales, engineering, planning, procurement, quality, testing, service, finance, and HR operate with clearly separated responsibilities and accountability.
Beyond The Organisational Chart - How CME Actually Operates
On paper, CME appears as a flat organization where all functions report to the CEO.
In practice, CME operates as a network of autonomous domain owners, each with real decision authority, while the CEO functions as a strategic arbiter rather than an operational manager.
CME delivers technology-powered environmental testing systems globally, with strategic partnerships including Lumartix Switzerland for advanced solar simulation solutions.
Systems are designed to meet international standard
CME is built in India with a global mindset. Our systems are designed to meet international standards and are deployed across diverse industries and geographies.
Global presence at CME is not defined only by exports, but by deep technology partnerships, standards alignment, and the ability to support customers worldwide.
Strong Engineering Foundation in India
CME’s engineering, manufacturing, and innovation backbone is based in India.
This foundation combines deep engineering talent, digital-first processes, and scalable manufacturing, enabling CME to deliver complex systems competitively and reliably.
